College Foundations - Reading, Writing and Mathematics- is a self directed preparation for college level placement assessments.

Testprepreview -  practice test for college level exams and other general exams. Accuplacer practice exam ( this is the exam used to determine college level placement in English and Math.

The free GED test prep course and free practice tests are designed for people with a ninth-grade level of education or higher, and provide solid preparation in the most important test topics, including many helpful tips and strategies. Special attention is paid to GED math.  The entire online class is available now to anyone who is ready to commit time and energy in preparation for their GED testing. Whether an individual heading for a career, a college career, a home school student, or just someone interested in an online course or practice exams, this program is for you!

The Khan Academy is an organization on a mission.  A free world-class education for anyone anywhere. We're a not-for-profit with the goal of changing education for the better by providing a free world-class education for anyone anywhere.  All of the site's resources are available to anyone. It doesn't matter if you are a student, teacher, home-schooler, principal, adult returning to the classroom after 20 years, or a friendly alien just trying to get a leg up in earthly biology. The Khan Academy's materials and resources are available to you completely free of charge.

TED, a nonprofit organization devoted to spreading big ideas through a series of conferences and a free video platform, has continued its expansion into  education by launching a brand-new TED-Ed website with tools to help teachers use video in the classroom.  The new platform allows educators to customize videos with follow-up questions and assignments, TED says—an initiative that could help power the “flipped learning” model.  

EdX is a not-for-profit enterprise of its founding partners Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology that features learning designed specifically for interactive study via the web. Based on a long history of collaboration and their shared educational missions, the founders are creating a new online-learning experience with online courses that reflect their disciplinary breadth. Along with offering online courses, the institutions will use edX to research how students learn and how technology can transform learning–both on-campus and worldwide. Anant Agarwal, former Director of MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, serves as the first president of edX. EdX's goals combine the desire to reach out to students of all ages, means, and nations, and to deliver these teachings from a faculty who reflect the diversity of its audience. EdX is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts and is governed by MIT and Harvard.

Highlights for High School is your guide to MIT courses selected specifically to help you prepare for AP exams, learn more about the skills and concepts you learned in school, and get a glimpse of what you'll soon study in college.

Free courses are just that, free materials available for your personal use, at your own discretion.  Students may use these courses as thier primary source of education, using the AP or SAT-II exam in the subject to confirm their knowledge at the end of the course, or by using some other school-approved examination.  Students often use these courses as supplementary study tools when taking the same-named courses elsewhere. Schools may or may not accept these courses as educational options.  You must contact your school to clarify thier requirements and acceptance of online educational options. 

Find Open Online Courses Free College level courses from a variety of colleges.

Open education resources free text book replacements provides study guides and quizzes.  Study guides can be shared.  Making a study guide is a great way to prep for exams, essays, and other assignments.
